Peter Ayley is inspired by coherent environments that get better with time.
He is the only MA from the Royal College of Art to have been awarded the SPAB scholarship (1986) giving him a creative vision with technical and historical depth.
He worked as a British Architect in England and France until the UK left the European Union. Theatre design and creative re-use of old and historic buildings are the two fields of endeavour in which he has most expertise and for which he continues to provide advice and design proposals.
He has evolved a rare sensitivity for the language of materials and maintains a studio and workshop where he makes among many things, fine timber furniture, using trees from his own woods.
